COVE 55 WELCOMES NEW GENERAL MANAGER

Cove 55 is pleased to announce that Mr. Christoph Leonhard has been appointed as the hotel’s new General Manager as of 13^th February, 2023.

Christoph Leonhard’s hospitality career includes over two and half decades of management experience within luxury hotels and residences in Asia, the USA, and his homeland, Germany.

After beginning his management career in 1997 at the St. Regis Hotel in New York, Leonhard made the move to Asia when he joined Amari Watergate Hotel in Thailand in 2000. He also worked as General Manager at multiple luxury resorts in the Amari portfolio, including Amari Havodda Maldives, before being appointed as General Manager of five-star luxury property, Oriental Residence, Bangkok.

As a native of Germany, Leonhard is fluent in both English and German. An established leader in luxury hospitality, he has been consistently recognized for his unwavering dedication to the highest standards of service, attention to detail and guest satisfaction.

Christoph Leonhard had the following to say about his new appointment; ‘The day I arrived I was amazed by the beauty of the property and the landscape that surrounds us.  I am looking forward to sharing this excitement for our property and our destination with our guests, creating unique experiences crafted around the best Kuching has to offer.’

With his 26-year career in the hospitality industry and extensive knowledge and experience of luxury brands at St. Regis, the Amari Hotels & Resorts and Accor’s Sofitel and M Gallery, General Manager Leonhard is a great asset to Cove 55, which has continued to flourish since 2021 with the launch of its new collection of 13 luxury villas.

The boutique resort will continue to provide guests with memorable experiences and uphold the Sarawakian cultural traditions of which Cove 55 is so proud, while striving to further enhance service quality and brand value into the future.
